Painting the Fuselage

The pictures don't do it justice, but the color is a bright blaze orange. I couldn't find blaze orange in automotive or aircraft paint, so I cleaned all the local stores out of blaze orange spray cans. This paint goes on real thin, so it took a lot of them. I lost count somewhere around 20.

In Primer

Before. In Primer.

Orange Stripe

After. With the trim strip on the join between the hull and the hardtop, some pinstriping, and the Aventura II decal on the side.

Also notice the triangular window in the hardtop. The Arnet Pereyra folks had done this on one of their factory planes, and I really liked the way it looked. Plus it eliminated a big blind spot behind the pilots.
