The Winter of Our Discontent, November 2001 - March 2002

The Move to Florida

We'd had enough of Michigan winters. During this time we located and bought a house and hangar in Florida. Work on the Hawk slowed even more, and finally came to a halt while we attended to all the things that need to be done for a major relocation.

Here's the Hawk packed onto its trailer for the trip South. Notice the folding tail. Also notice the winter coats.

We hit the road with a Ryder truck, two cars, and the plane on March 16, 2002.

Here we are at the new home at South Lakeland Airport, near Lakeland, FL, on March 18th, 2002. Behind the truck is the hangar and workshop, and the house is to the right. Notice the t-shirt!
