Mid-December 1995

A Visit to the Arnet Pereyra Factory

Arnet Pereyra only had one hand-built prototype two-seater at Oshkosh, so I waited until late1995 to visit the factory to meet the crew and fly the planes.

On December 10th I left home near Detroit, Michigan and started driving south to Rockledge, Florida, home of Arnet Pereyra. I spent about a week in Florida playing tourist, touring the factory, and flying a couple of their Aventura II's. I liked what I saw and signed the papers. To save myself some shipping costs I packed as much of the large pieces of the plane into (and on top of) my van as would fit.

Here you see the van ready to head back north with the bottom hull of the plane upside down on the roof. I got a few strange looks on the 1200 mile trip home.

Standing in front of the van are the Arnet Pereyra crew.

Left to Right: Jorge, Cali, Doug, José, Marc, Jim, and the designer and brains of the outfit, Carlos Pereyra.
